Hey Catherine,
That is great. I personally don't listen to audio books, and don't know anyone who does, but I do know that a lot of people do.

I like to read my books, not listen to them, but I also don't spend a lot of time commuting. I have recently gotten into ebooks though :)

Hey there, Booklover! It just so happens that over at the eHarlequin mesage boards they have a thread asking what authors you would like to see have their backlist reissued in ebook form! They also provide an e-mail address to contact them with your request if you would rather not post on the message board. Sooooo….. for those of you who would like to see my out of print Wingmen Warriors and Special Ops reissued in ebook form, here's how to make your voice heard!!

Here's the link to the message board thread:

Here's the e-mail link:

Thanks!!

Congrats on your first audio book. I've never tried audio books.

That is so cool! Congratultions!I only bought one audio book and was EXTREMELY dissappointed because the lady, I thought, sounded horrible. It was a Janet Evanovich book and the woman who read it made it horrible. Haven't bought one since.

I probably should expound on exactly why I did not like it. Janet's books are hilarious and this woman just could not pull off the humor. I am not opposed to trying another audio book, just haven't gotten anymore.

One summer when a friend of mine and I decided to drive to Yellowstone (a round trip of over 3400 miles)we also decided to get audio books of James Patterson's "Women's Murder Club" and really enjoyed them. But I haven't found too many other books I wanted to listen to since then.

Chiming in to say there are definitely some narrators that do an awesome job on the audio books. It's a good idea to make notes of your favorites so you can track down their work. I have friends who like some narrators for comedic works and other readers for more dramatic pieces. They reach for their fav narrators as much as their favorite authors.

I'm still waiting for the iPod plug in for my car so I can download more things like this. And while yes, I could install a new stereo, I might just lobby for a whole new vehicle next fall ;-) . Wish me luck!!!

We have a cassette player in both our cars, so I use one of those cassette-looking adaptor thingys to listen to my audiobooks on the iPod in the car. We love our audio books. I think that they've helped with my oldest's reading skills.

Just want to emphasize that y'all should come over and request any backlist ebooks or audio books over at eHarlequin.com. I'm the host for the "Alternative Formats" (eBooks, audio books, podcasts) and I love passing people's requests on up to Toronto. And if you have questions on using either format, everyone there is friendly and helpful, so it's a good place to come.

And I have to agree with what Joanne said about readers. A reader really can make or break a book. I'm one of the people who keeps track of readers as well as authors. I can search for the readers at both my library and at audible.com.

And yep, Penn, I have the cassette adaptor thingy too. Works like a charm!

Wishing everyone a fabulous 4th of July!

We bought audio books of Harry potter for our Dyslexic son to have alongside the books. They really helped,as reading a lot when you are Dyslexic is tiring, but he didn't want to stop. We also used an audio book borrowing system through the library[ I live in England } for my blind dad . Love all your books H

Great point about audio books being especially cool for dyslexics…. My oldest daughter has dyslexia and absolutely ADORES her audio books…

Thanks too for the cheers for my books!!!

Hi.. I have been trying to get onto your website for weeks and have been unable to. Do you know if there a problem with your site http://www.catherinemann.com? I'd really like to see if you have anything on there about the next upcoming book in the Dark Ops series

The website loaded for me this morning. Renegade is fabulous, BTW. It's my favorite of the three and that's saying something! Sometimes if you clear your cache, that helps pages load… or maybe click refresh? That's the extent of my computer savvy though… good luck!

Hey there, Annon! Sorry about the troubles loading the website…. The host appears to have had some periodic troubles recently – sometimes the site loads, other times not. My hubby is looking into it. Keep an eye out though. We're going to do an entire website overhaul in August!! Thanks for your interest in my next Dark Ops story!!

I sometimes listen to audiobooks. Mostly for cross country, or cross state, drives, or sometimes while doing housework. Usually it's a book I've already read, but not always.

I like the Elizabeth Peters reader(s), and I would have give up on Kelly Armstrong's Bitten for the XXTSTL heroine long before I did had it not been for the excellent reader. Some readers drive me nuts, but for the most part I think they add something to the experience.
